Introducing the New G2 Product Line
As a result of major design improvements, we are excited to introduce our new G2-Base Drop-In Crib System. (This system does not have the built in plant stand system)
Hydroponic growing is one of the easiest and most beautiful ways to grow tropical plants indoors. The visually stunning root growth creates true living art, and because there is no soil, most common bug issues are greatly reduced.
Your system comes assembled. Just add plants and water.

Why We Love the New G2 Design
Each unit is 3D printed and has its own unique appearance due to slight color variation and texture. The result is an impressive, luxurious brushed-metal look.
The updated crib design eliminates the need for vinyl air lines inside the cylinder. Air now flows through the crib spear and connects to a removable air stone at the base, creating a cleaner, sleeker design. Cleaning is also much easier.
For best bubble distribution, soak the air stone in water for 30 minutes before use. If you do not soak the stone, it may take approximately 24 hours for the bubbles to distribute evenly.
The included Plant Daddy HD-603 air pump features an airflow control knob. We run our pump 24 hours a day at full volume.
Overhead Light Option
The only option when ordering your G2-Base Drop-In System is whether to include the overhead grow light.
We highly recommend the overhead light option because it allows you to grow almost anywhere, regardless of natural light.
Important Placement Notes
Do not place the G2-Base Drop-In System in direct sunlight or in a high-heat area. Intense heat or direct sun may damage the unit. This system is recommended for indoor use only.
Do not place the unit on top of any surface that could be damaged by water. The unit may create slight vapor overspray. Adding a plant near the overspray area can help contain it.
Two Ways to Grow
The G2-Base Drop-In System gives you two ways to support your hydroponic plants.
1. Crib
The crib is built into the collar and allows you to create beautiful hydro gardens. Plants sit centered in the top basket area, more or less suspended above the water. You may use multiple small plants or one larger plant to fill the display.
2. Reducer Plates
The reducer plates are great for supporting vertical cane plants. The six smaller holes around the center opening are perfect for adding accent plants. The plates may also be used with the crib if extra support is needed.
Please note: The reducer plates do not lock into place, so use care when creating or cleaning your unit.
Glass Cylinder
The glass cylinder measures approximately 6" in diameter x 14" tall.
Please note that all glass cylinders may have some natural manufacturing imperfections, including swirls, bubbles, spider cracking, irregular bottoms, scarring, minor scratches, or small chips on the top edges. These are considered acceptable due to the manufacturing process.
The best part is that these imperfections are generally not noticeable once the unit is filled and running.
Cleaning Instructions
We recommend doing water changes and plant cleaning every 2–3 weeks. We do not recommend going longer than 3 weeks between cleanings, as the water may become cloudy or develop an unpleasant smell.
To clean your system:
- Disconnect the air line from the back of the crib.
- Lift the crib out of the cylinder.
- Stand the crib on the air spear in a bucket to help stabilize it while cleaning.
- Clean the plant roots and G2 parts using only tap water and the included soft bristle brush.
- Do not use cleaning agents on any G2 parts.
- Rinse the plant thoroughly before placing it back into clean water.
- Empty the cylinder into a bucket before moving it. Never carry the cylinder while it is full of water.
- Wash the glass cylinder with soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and dry the outside.
- Place the empty cylinder back on the base.
- Fill with distilled, reverse osmosis, or filtered water to about 3 inches from the top.
- Return the crib to the cylinder.
- Continue filling until the water reaches the bottom of the collar.
- Wipe off any excess water from the unit and base.
- Reconnect the air line to the back of the crib.
You may need to add water weekly to maintain the proper water level, which is the bottom of the collar.
Feeding
We recommend feeding your plants every 6 weeks with the included Plant Daddy Jungle Juice plant food.
Use plant food at half strength, which is:
0.5 ml per gallon of water
Full strength is 1 ml per gallon. Your cylinder holds approximately 1.3 gallons of water.
Do not add extra plant food when topping off the cylinder. Only add more water.
Allow your plants to stay in the plant food solution for 5–7 days, then clean the system as directed above.
Do not begin feeding until your plants have at least 1 inch of new water roots. This can take 6–12 weeks for some plants.
Use only distilled, reverse osmosis, or filtered water for growing.
Lighting
Your system can offer two light sources:
- The included base-mounted hydro light, which uplights the cylinder
- The optional overhead grow light, which extends up to 60 inches tall
The end of the overhead light mast is flexible so you can adjust the light as needed.
Each light has its own in-line controller. We recommend running the base light for 12 hours per day and the overhead grow light for 16 hours per day.
The lights will come on each day at the time they are activated.
To set the timer:
- Push the bottom red button to turn the light on.
- Use the button with the clock symbol to select the timer duration.
- Yellow = 8 hours
- Green = 12 hours
- Red = 16 hours
The + and - buttons control brightness. You can dim the base light for a softer effect. We recommend leaving the overhead grow light at full strength for daily growing.
You only need to reset the timers if power to the unit is turned off.

Final Notes
Never use cleaning agents on your G2 parts.
Always wipe excess water from your unit after filling.
This system requires a 110V/USB power source, which is not included.
Your pump, timers, and power source can be concealed inside a drawer or cabinet to create a clean hydro display.
